Caught between Europe and Asia, Turkey is a land full of dichotomies. Straddling Eastern and Western culture, you will find a fascinating mix of both as you explore this land. The rich Ottoman past has led to a culture with mosques, Western suburbs, Western economics, Islamic ideals and historic neighborhoods living side by side. Many Greek and Roman ruins have been magnificently preserved in Turkey. There are hot springs and caved cities to discover, as well as some of the finest cuisine in the world. The people are friendly and hospitable, making it a wonderful city for host students who want something a little different.
