Mongolia is famous for being the home of Genghis Khan. It is bordered by both Russia and China, and has some of the most varied and diverse terrain in the world. Mongolia has mountainous regions, the Gobi Desert, as well as forests and grasslands. The diet is mainly meat and dairy based, with simple hearty dishes. The main religion is Tibetan Buddhism and there are monasteries scattered throughout the countryside. One of the main pastimes is horseback riding, a tradition since the time of Khan. The people of Mongolia are very friendly, positive, and looking forward to sharing their country with you.
